Disney Princesses Dream Big in Disney On Ice

Disney On Ice Teenage Costumes

Not that long ago, I went to my very first Disney On Ice performance show — and Natalie, Carter, Brian, and I were all blown away. We’re BIG Disney fans and loved being able to experience the magic of some of our favorite Disney movies in our hometown, Sacramento.

Since then, we’ve been to many other similar shows, including the Disney On Ice World Of Enchantment show with Cars and Toy Story characters, which my son loved!

Saying yes was a total no-brainer when the PR Team For Feld Entertainment invited Inspired Imperfection to review the new Disney On Ice Presents Dream Big performance show on opening night. But this time we didn’t invite the boys. Instead, Natalie brought two of her friends with us, who are also giant Disney fans and all three of them dressed up as princesses for the event.

Disney on Ice Dream Big

Disney On Ice Dream Big, playing in Sacramento November 2–5, celebrates Disney’s princesses in a big way as a new generation learns to cherish the romance of the princess stories but with a clear message of self-love and self-confidence — you can dream big and accomplish your dreams if you believe in yourself.

Believing is just the beginning when dreamers throughout Sacramento witness the empowering tales of Disney’s most courageous leading ladies told through artistic skating and acrobatics in Disney On Ice presents Dream Big.

You are invited to join eight Disney Princesses — Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Tiana, Jasmine, Aurora and Snow White — as they embark on incredible adventures, determined to make their dreams come true. In addition, you’ll experience the sisterly love that has captivated millions as Disney’s Frozen is brought to life on the icy stage.

Our Dream Big Experience

We arrived early, so the first thing we did after arriving at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento was hit the souvenir stand and snag some t-shirts before the lines got too long. Then, on the way to our seats, we grabbed some snacks from Cafe Bernardo — garlic fries and milkshakes.

Disney On Ice Presents Dream Big opened with Mickey and Minnie and the audience cheered — one little girl near us waved her own Minnie Mouse doll in the air screaming, which so cute! Along with Mickey and Minnie Mouse, through enchanted pixie-dust, Tinker Bell takes audiences on a journey of beloved Disney tales.

Aladdin

Our first adventure took place in Agraba with Aladdin and Abu in the market where he first escapes the guards but then gets caught while trying to save a beautiful woman from capture after stealing a loaf of bread. Aladdin learns the woman is Princess Jasmine, he finds the magic lamp and meets the comical, larger-than-life genie, wishes to become a prince and then takes Jasmine on a magic carpet ride as they skate across the ice.

Snow White

Then Snow White appears next to a wishing well and soon meets her prince. The dwarfs come out for a rousing “Hi-Ho” and Dopey clearly wins over the audience with his silly antics. Then Snow White and her prince take the stage for a beautiful performance.

Beauty And The Beast

Tinkerbell glides across the ice with a beautiful, large red rose and leaves it it behind for Belle to discover as she takes the stage dreaming of a adventure and singing of her dreams. Then the giant, talking candlestick Lumiere takes the stage and introduces the next performance, Be Our Guest, where Lumiere and Belle perform with silverware and napkins!

Rapunzel And The Little Mermaid

The story of Rapunzel is up next with a short performance that then leads into Prince Eric and his sailors taking the stage and we were treated to Eric performing with acrobatic sailors who flipped through the air in skates!

Then Sebastian takes the stage with the daughters of Triton minus Ariel, which transitions into Sebastian, Ariel, and flounder performing Under The Sea with the sea life. Soon Ariel sees Eric, falls in love, makes a deal with the Evil sea witch Ursula to trade her voice for legs, dances with Prince Eric, convinced him to kiss her, and they all live happily ever after.

The Princess And The Frog, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella

After intermission, Princess Tiana brought to Live the music of New Orleans and Prince Phillip fought the dragon Maleficent to rescue and wake Princess Aurora with true love’s kiss.

Next up Prince Charming took the stage, the Royal Ball came to life, and we all giggled as the stepsisters made fools of themselves pursuing the Prince. Then Cinderella took the stage in a gorgeous, pumpkin carriage covered in twinkle lights as the crowd erupted in cheers. Cinderella And Prince Charming them performed with her glass slippers sparkling under the area lights.

Frozen

A trip to Arendelle closed out Disney On Ice Presents Dream Big. The Frozen story began with Princess Anna meeting Prince Hans, asking Queen Elsa for her marriage blessing, Elsa freezing Arendelle and fleeing to the mountain. Princess Anna then set out to find her sister and bring back summer, meeting Kristoff and Olaf along the way. Anna finds Elsa, They perform to Let It Go, Elsa accidentally freezes Anna’s heart, and Kristoff takes her back to Arendelle for love’s kiss to heal her. Unfortunately, Prince Hans turns out to be a bad guy, Anna risks her life to save Elsa, and Elsa ends us saving Anna and bringing back Summer when she realizes that love saves all.

The Finale

For the finale, all princesses, Mickey and Minnie, Goofy, and Tinker Bell in the Cinderella pumpkin carriage, the stage to perform together while the audience clapped, cheered, and many even stood.

Disney On Ice Is Not Just For Little Kids

Our group was one adult and three 14 year old girls and we loved the show, singing along to all of the incredible songs and watching the show in awe of their talents. As I mentioned, the girls dressed up in their own Disney Princess costumes — teen versions, that they actually also wore to school the next day for a themed dress up day.
