Red White And Berry Pound Cake Pile

Pound Cake And Berries Dessert Recipe

Probably one of the most simple summer desserts, the Red White And Berry Pound Cake Pile is super yummy and ready to serve in just a few minutes.

Wait, what’s a cake pile you ask?

Well, first let me back up a minute and share a secret with you: I don’t like cake and I don’t like frosting. My son doesn’t like cake and frosting either, and Brian could never eat cake again and not care. So we rarely bake cakes. We don’t even bake birthday cakes, instead we celebrate with doughnuts and ice cream or chocolate fondue.

What we do love is pound cake, especially when it is cold, right out of the refrigerator.

We usually cut the pound cake up into little squares — probably because we also usually eat it with chocolate fondue. But this time, because it was almost 8:00 pm and it was still super hot outside (ick!), I wanted something fruity, light, and cold.

That’s how our Red White And Berry Pound Cake Pile was born.

Chocolate Berry Pound Cake Dessert

Not only does this summer dessert look amazing, but with fresh picked strawberries, blueberries, and coarsely chopped Ghiradelli milk chocolate, it tastes just as good as it looks! Plus, you don’t have to bake or cook anything, so there’s no turning on the oven when it’s already sweltering out.

Simply cut the pound cake up into little squares and top it with a big blob of Cool Whip and cut up fresh fruit. Then sprinkle with the chocolate pieces.

That’s it. Super simple. Super yummy!
