When Feld entertainment reached out to invite us to review the opening night of Disney On Ice presents Dare To Dream, we said yes pretty much immediately because in this brand new show, Disney’s Moana voyages onto the ice for the first time ever!
Natalie brought a couple of her friends (also big Disney fans) along for the night, which started with a special Hawaiian-themed pre-show media event at Golden 1 Center. It included delicious fresh fruit kabobs, Moana crafts, pictures with Mickey and Minnie, and beautiful Hula dancing demonstrations from local hula groups. The girls even got to participate in a Hula lesson!
Between the media event and the main show, we wandered the Golden 1 Center concourse, snapping photos at the various photo ops and eating chicken strips and fries. Normally, I can’t eat chicken strips because most are battered in buttermilk and I have a dairy allergy, but these aren’t and they were delicious! I would definitely order them again.
Disney On Ice In Sacramento
This brand new version of Disney On Ice presents Dare To Dream was different than every other Disney On Ice show we have been to — it had a female narrator and was focused on the bravery, courage, and brains of the princesses. While the vignettes told the Disney stories we all know and love, the stories downplayed the men and showcases strong female characters taking charge and making their dreams come true.
Disney On Ice Featuring Moana
Featuring Disney’s Moana for the first time in a live production, hosts Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse bring the Disney magic to life and take audiences on an expedition across raging seas and snow-covered mountains in this action-packed extravaganza with the beloved characters from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, Tangled, and Cinderella.
- In her Disney On Ice debut, see how far Moana will go in a high-seas adventure with demigod Maui, to save her island and discover her true identity.
- Join Belle as she fearlessly befriends the enchanted castle staff, including Lumiere, and reveals the Beast’s gentleness.
- Experience Princess Anna’s devotion to her sister Queen Elsa, on her life-changing journey to stop an eternal winter.
- Explore with Rapunzel, Flynn Ryder, Cinderella and friends from around the Disney Kingdom as they find the heart and determination to overcome obstacles and make their dreams come true.
Iconic sing-along songs such as How Far I’ll Go, Be Our Guest and Let It Go are paired with powerful skating choreography and Cirque du Soleil style tricks to instill confidence and embolden audiences to never stop dreaming. Plus fans are encouraged to arrive early to celebrate family and tradition with a special sing-along with Miguel from Disney/Pixar’s Coco in a live fiesta Disney On Ice style at the start of the show!
