Wedge-Cut Seasoned Parsley Fries (Whole30)

Whole30 Wedge Cut Seasoned Parsley Fries with Ranch Dressing

The other night to feed my burger craving, I made Loaded Turkey Burgers With Sweet Potato Buns for dinner — and they were to die for. So good in fact, that we’re not going back to traditional hamburger buns any time soon.

When Natalie found out we were having burgers for dinner, the first the she asked was, “Are we having fries too?” She, like me, is a french fry fanatic. She has actually joke that if she weren’t so busy with dance, school, student leadership, our family travels and adventures, and her own blog, she just might start a french fry review site 🙂

Anyway, after she mentioned french fries, that’s all I could think about. I wasn’t too keen on serving up french fries alongside Turkey Burgers With Sweet Potato Buns, but fries and burgers just go together so well, and I like letting my kids have a say in what we cook, especially when they also eat veggies.

I figured that if I was going to make french fries, I was going to go all in and make seasoned fries — and because Brian’s favorite fries are the thick fries, we decided to make them wedge-cut.

The Best Homemade French Fries Ever

Seriously, how good do these homemade french fries look?

OMG. They weren’t too chewy like overcooked potatoes can get and they weren’t soggy and limp like frozen french fries often are. Nope. They were perfect. Our wedge cut fries were firm, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, and totally packed with flavor.

We’re definitely making these again and again and again.

How To Make Wedge-Cut Seasoned French Fries

The best part about these Seasoned Parsley Fries are that they were insanely easy and fast to make.

(In case you haven’t noticed, that’s a theme of mine. If it’s not easy and fast, we’re not making it. I don’t do complicated recipes or meals, I don’t have time for meals that take forever to cook, and I don’t want to have to buy fancy kitchen appliances or special ingredients that I’m rarely going to use.)

Anyway, Natalie came up with a fantastic idea: Using the apple cutter/corer to cut the potatoes into wedges! Brilliant. She is brilliant. We stood the potato on end, tapped the apple cutter/corer into the top, and pushed down just as if we were cutting an apple into wedges, and just like that we had a pile of potato wedges ready to be turned into French fries. It was so fast!

Once the potatoes were cut, we placed the potato wedges in a bowl with a lid, added the olive oil and seasonings, secured lid, and shook it until the potato wedges were evenly coated.

We then arranged the seasoned wedge-cut fries in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure no two potato wedges touched, and baked it for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, I switched the oven to broil (high) and placed potato wedges under the broiler for 3-5 minutes, watching them carefully to avoid burning, to finish them off.

To keep the Seasoned Parsley Fries Whole30 compliant, we serve them with Tessemae’s sauces like Creamy Ranch Dressing, Matty’s BBQ Sauce, or the Organic Ketchup.

You can get 20% off your Tessemae’s order with this coupon, and if you do order, I’ll get 20% off my next order too… and trust me the ranch, barbecue sauce, and ketchup are so amazingly tasty, that reordering is a constant thing for us.
