Like our spring break road trip to Capitol Reef National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, and Zion National Park, our big summer road trip was another fly-and-drive adventure.
We flew into Seattle, rented a car, road tripped through North Cascades National Park, Mount Rainier National Park, and Olympic National Park, and flew back home from Seattle. We were so excited to get our adventure started and the first stop on our drive to North Cascades was a riverside picnic lunch and ice cream at a super cute little organic farm stand.
In Rockport, Washington we found the perfect stop for a tailgate picnic lunch: a roadside park along the banks of the sparkling Skagit River. We grabbed our ice chest, found a shady picnic table, and enjoyed a fresh air picnic. We then stretched our legs a bit as we walked through the park to take in the views of the river and snow capped mountains.
