Our family loves dessert, especially hot out of the oven, gooey, chocolate chip cookies. So delicious.
But here’s the thing. Making homemade chocolate chip cookies requires you to have all of the ingredients on hand and you need time to make the cookie dough, put the cookie dough balls on the baking sheets, bake the cookies, and transfer them to cooking racks. And I don’t always have the ingredients or the time.
Sometimes I just want a delicious dessert without the work, and sometimes I want hot chocolate chip cookies without the effort.
The cookie part is easy — I can just grab a log of slice-and-back cookie dough and we’re good to go. The dessert part is a bit harder… usually… until now.
One of the kids’ favorite desserts when we go out is the Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillet from Chili’s or the Pizookie from BJs Brewery. They are super delicious. But we don’t eat out very often anymore and sometimes it would be nice to make them at home (without a lot of work).
For Christmas last year, my son got me four single-serving cast iron skillets — one for each of us — so I could make us all Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillets at home. I LOVE these skillets and use them to make all sorts of single-serving desserts, snacks, and meals.
Pair my individual cast-iron skillets with a log of slice-and-back cookie dough and we’re in business. It’s the perfect combination for a delicious, warm, gooey, Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillet at home.
The best part is that it’s really easy.
All you have to do is:
- Preheat the oven to the temperature indicated on the package.
- Spray the cast iron skillets with baking non-stick spray.
- Cover each skillet with slices of cookie dough until the full skillet is covered.
- Bake the cookie skillets in the oven until they turn a deep golden brown.
- Let the skillets set and cool for at least 10 minutes.
- Eat as is, or top it with ice cream!
Super easy right?! You don’t even have to know how to bake.
Now you’ve got to try it.
